CCTV Of Shop Attack

Police have released CCTV images of five men who they want to trace after a woman was knocked unconscious in a Sparkhill off-licence after she tried to eject them from the shop.

The assault took place at the Ladypool Wine Cellar in Ladypool Road between 5-5.30pm on Friday 14 March.

A group of Asian males aged 15-20, entered the store and started throwing items around. The shopkeeper, a woman in her forties, asked then men to leave and tried to eject one man who was standing in the doorway. The woman was then knocked to the floor and lost consciousness.

The group of males then stole chocolate and soft drinks before escaping.

DC Alan Nevin from Force CID said: “ There were five men in total involved in this incident, and we are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise these men to contact us on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The woman who was attacked lost consciousness and still suffers headaches following the incident."
