A man is in hospital after being shot in the stomach when three masked men burst into his house in the Black Country.
Detectives are examining CCTV footage to hunt down the offenders.
West Midlands Police said five other members of the 22-year-old's family, including a baby, were uninjured after the gang burst into a house in Tipton, near Dudley.
The victim, who is in a stable condition in hospital, was shot at about 8pm on Friday 19 December after intruders made demands for money at the property in Turton Road.
Detective Sergeant Adam Austin, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the family and we urgently need to track down the men responsible.
"Fortunately, the victim is expected to make a full recovery.''
Anyone with information is urged to contact Det Sgt Austin on 101 or the Crimestoppers service on 0800 555 111.
