The 'Check It Out' star admits reworking a pizza into calzone is like creating a hit single.

Will.i.am has revealed that he finds making new music similar to the skills possessed by a great chef.

The 'Great Times' singer told the Daily Star that using the same ingredients time and time again and being able to create new dishes is how he makes a hit record.

"I’m like a chef – you have to have the ability to mess up a pizza and turn it into a calzone," he confessed. "It's hard to bake a pizza, use the same ingredients and make spaghetti and do lasagne.

"Think about those dishes. They all have the same ingredients, except for the flour."

The Black Eyed Peas man is currently preparing to release his new studio album and is blown away by all his recent success.

"It's amazing all the love I'm getting," he admitted. "I was talking to Apl – my best friend from the Peas – and saying it feels like 2002 again for me.

"2002 was when 'Where Is The Love?' was about to kick off. In 2012, it's a different level."

His latest album is set to feature collaborations with Justin Bieber, Nicole Scherzinger and LMFAO and is expected to be released later this year.
