The Black Eyed Peas star says he has been played tracks from the singer's new record.
Will.i.am has given an update on Cheryl Cole's new album after hearing some of her new songs.
Speaking to Capital FM, the Black Eyed Peas star, who is also Cheryl's manager, said he was confident the former X Factor judge was making good progress.
Cheryl has been working with a host of big names on the project, including Eminem and Rihanna collaborator Alex Da Kid.
"So we had a meeting a couple of days ago where she played some of her stuff and she has the goods. Really, she has the goods," Will.i.am told Capital FM.
"It's hard to find the goods. You can sing good, you can look good, but it's really hard to find the right combination of producers, ambience in the studio, songwriters, visual people that inspire your perspective, art directors. I think we got a good little team."
But Will.i.am remained tight-lipped on what the star's new music sounded like, adding that he wanted to "let her do that".
Will.i.am is currently putting the finishing touches to his new solo album '#willpower', which is due to be released in the spring.
