Usher has pleged to be a good friend and mentor to teenage star Justin Bieber.

"I will be there, supportive of the hard times; I will be there, supportive of the tumultuous situations and circumstances that he may experience in his life."

"The pitfalls of fame comes in time, it should be a long story which is what we hope for, we hope for longevity and that’s far its definitely looking like a lot of fans who will want to grow with him."

Usher was speaking to Anjali Rao on TalkAsia on CNN.

He says from the first time he say Justin on Youtube he knew there was star potential.
“…I saw him, I arranged a meeting with his manager who I had worked with in the past and said this kid has definitely got what it takes to be something incredible and I will really like to invest into his future. I feel like it is ideal to be part of it,”

Usher himself entered the music industry at the age of 15.
