The 'Scream' signer says he is in "incredible shape" ready to portray Sugar Ray Leonard on screen.
Usher has revealed he starts filming for his role as Sugar Ray Leonard in the upcoming boxing drama Hands Of Stone later this year.
The 'Climax' singer says he has been getting into "incredible shape" ready to portray the iconic world title boxer, in a film about the life of fellow boxer Roberto Duran.
"I'm actually getting ready to work on a movie right now," Usher revealed exclusively to Capital FM. "I'm actually scheduled to play Sugar Ray Leonard in a film about Roberto Duran's life, and it's set to shoot later this year. Really incredible.
"I'm in incredible shape," the 'Scream' star said of his preparation for the role. "I've had to actually lose a lot of weight.
"Right now, I'm kind of at a cruiserweight, but you know Sugar Ray Leonard was a welter [weight], and I'm actually working to get that weight down," he added.
When asked when fans can expect Hands Of Stone to hit cinemas the R&B star said it was still "a long way away" from being released.
Usher launched his seventh studio album 'Looking 4 Myself' this week in London with an intimate album showcase, fresh from playing Wembley Stadium for the Capital FM Summertime Ball on Saturday (9th June).
