The female stars enjoy a friendly exchange on social networking site Twitter.
Taylor Swift has taken to her Twitter account to thank Lily Allen after the British star complimented her new single 'I Knew You Were Trouble'.
The 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' singer said the fellow female star's comments had "made my day" as she shared a festive message to the star.
Lily had earlier tweeted: "This Taylor Swift Trouble jam is siiiiiiiccck."
This then prompted the country star to respond: "Hiiii @lilyrosecooper--thanks! That just made my day:) Merry Christmas!."
The official video to the track was released earlier this week and has been compared to Rihanna's dark promo to her smash hit 'We Found Love'.
Taylor has also this week confirmed the track is based on a real-life experience.
"When you are curious about something you know might be bad for you but you know that you are going to go for it anyway because, if you don't, you'll have greater regrets about not seeing where that would go," she told MTV.
Meanwhile, Lily is currently working on her new studio album and has already teased a 2013 release date for the record.
