Idris Elba makes a surprising cameo on the intro for Taylor Swift's 'London Boy', from her new album 'Lover'. Some fans were convinced for a moment that the voice they heard belonged to Taylor's actor boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
Taylor Swift released Lover this week and fans have already chosen their standout tracks. 'The Man', 'Cruel Summer', and 'Soon You'll Get Better' have proven to be early fan favourites but it's the intro to 'London Boy' that has some listeners playing guessing games. Who is talking in the intro to 'London Boy'?
The voice at the beginning of 'London Boy' has listeners stumped and, while some think Joe Alwyn is the person speaking on the track, others have seemingly cracked the true identity of the Brit on the song.

On 'London Boy', Taylor waxes poetic about her favourite things to do in London, which include visiting Camden Market, going to the pub, and, of course, seeing shows on the West End.
At the beginning of the song, a voice says "We can go driving in, on my scooter. Uh, you know, just riding in London".
At first, fans thought it might be the voice of Taylor's actor beau, Joe Alwyn.
Taylor and Joe have been quietly dating for a while, reportedly since early 2017. They don't walk red carpets together and her statements about him are few and far between. However, you'd probably be safe in assuming that Joe is the subject of at least a few lyrics on Lover.

However, it is clear that the voice at the beginning of 'London Boy' is actually Idris Elba.
During an interview with James Cordon, Idris talks about the fun things one might do on a date with him. He mentions going on a scooter ride and it's the exact clip from the beginning of the song.
