Taio Cruz defends Auto-Tune

Taio Cruz has defended the use of Auto-Tune in music via his Twitter account.

Posting on his Twitter page the singer said: 'To me saying people who use autotune cant sing is like saying Guitarists who use distortion amps cant play..Or hating on Tom Cruise cos of special effects in a movie! just enjoy it'.

He later Tweeted: 'The amount of times I get "Wow, I didn't think Taio could sing" is hilarious'.

The use of Auto- Tune has been controversial in recent years with acts ranging from Britney Spears to Kanye West criticised for their use of it. Jay Z even released a track called 'D.O.A (Death Of Auto-Tune)' in 2003.
