The 'We Found Love' star upset some viewers with her shoes, which featured a swear word.
Rihanna has been defended after she wore shoes featuring explicit language during her appearance on The X Factor last night (20th November).
The 'Talk That Talk' star's creepers featured a host of words written like graffiti, one of which said: "F**k off."
RiRi's choice of footwear for her performance of 'We Found Love' was branded shocking by some viewers, but a spokesperson for The X Factor defended the singer.
They told The Sun: "There were no close up shots of Rihanna's shoes. We believe the performance was suitable."
The criticism of Rihanna's performance has been relatively light compared to her appearance on the show last year when she was slammed for wearing a provocative costume.
Rihanna's outfit prompted an investigation from TV watchdog Ofcom, which later cleared the programme.
Meanwhile, the star's new album 'Talk That Talk', which features 'We Found Love' and 'You Da One', is out now.
It has also been reported that Rihanna's video for 'We Found Love' has been banned by TV stations in France because of its content.
