The 'Diamonds' singer thanks her fans after latest record shoots straight to the top of the Billboard charts.
Rihanna has confessed to breaking out into tears as soon as she found out she'd claimed her first ever number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 'Unapologetic'.
The 'We Found Love' star had previously charted no higher than the number two spot 0back in 2007 with 'Good Girl Gone Bad' and took to Twitter to thank her fans after hearing the news.
"Wait!!!!! What the F***?!!!! #UNAPOLOGETIC just debuted at #1 in AMERICA!!!!! My first number 1 album there!!! Thank you Navy, u deserve it," she tweeted before adding: "I'm legit crying like a pussy right now!! #UNAPOLOGETIC."
The Bajan star's album shifted a total of 238,000 copies in its opening week, and comes shortly after her latest single 'Diamonds' went to number one on the Hot 100 chart.
Her previous best week sales came in 2010 with 'Loud', which sold 207,000 copies upon its release.
The singer is also set to take the album on the road when she kicks off her 'Diamonds' world tour in March 2013.
She also added an additional date to the European leg of the tour this week, confirming she will appear at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 21st June.
