Rihanna breaks down in tears as she discusses her former boyfriend Chris Brown in a new interview.
The 'Talk That Talk' star has spoken for the first time on camera about the 'Turn Up The Music' singer's assault against her in 2009.
Speaking to Oprah, Rihanna said she was left confused and upset after the incident, and felt like she had lost her "best friend".
"I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in," she said.
"Because as angry as I was - as angry and hurt and betrayed - I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who's going to help him? Nobody's going to say he needs help, everybody's going to say he's a monster, without looking at the source. And I was more concerned about him."

Rihanna added: "It was embarrassing it was humiliating... I lost my best friend."
The famous talk show host also asks Rihanna two further questions - "Do you think Chris Brown is a true love for you?" and "Where does your relationship stand today?" – but those answers have been withheld from previews.
