Fans are left distraught after the 'One Thing' singer leaves the micro-blogging website due to "abuse".
Fans of One Direction have urged Zayn Malik to return to Twitter after he deleted his account.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' quit the popular social networking website last night (21st August), saying he was "sick" of the online abuse he had been getting.
The star, who has over five million followers, wrote: "The reason I don't tweet as much as I use to is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily goodbye twitter :)."
Zayn's decision to delete his Twitter account has been met with shock by One Direction's fans, many of whom have been reacting using the hashtag #ComeBackZayn, which is currently trending worldwide.
One Twitter user, Dina Hantosh wrote: "Worst moment ever: When Zayn Malik left twitter world."
HeyItsAubrey said: "Let's give Zayn all the love Directioners can give."
Rachel Deanna wrote: "It's ridiculous that Zayn Malik has had to leave Twitter due to hate. Fair enough to have an opinion but some people take it too far."
Zayn, who is currently in a relationship with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, is in London at present putting the final touches to the band's upcoming second studio album .
'What Makes You Beautiful' singer Liam Payne teased his followers on Twitter yesterday by promising the band have some big news coming up later this week.
