The 'Gotta Be You' singers say they cannot wait to bring their music to the US next year.

One Direction say they feel ready for the challenge of cracking America over the course of 2012.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singers recently announced they have signed to US label Columbia Records and are also due to play a number of dates stateside early next year.

"America is a massive place and it's going to be hard," Harry Styles told The Sun. "Nothing is gonna come easy.

"A lot of people have tried and failed but we want to break the mould and see what we can do."

Harry added: "We'll definitely give it a go."

Fellow band member Niall Horan admitted it was daunting to be sharing a label with iconic industry names like Bob Dylan and David Bowie.

"If you look at the names and record sales on Syco, our label here, you go 'wow' – but being label-mates with Bowie, Dylan and Bruce [Springsteen] is on another level."

One Direction released their debut album 'Up All Night' earlier this week.
