The 'Kiss You' star says he often feels uncomfortable when confronted by big crowds of screaming fans.

One Direction star Niall Horan has admitted he often gets "scared" when the band encounter large groups of fans on their travels.

The 'Live While We're Young' singer says he sometimes feels "claustrophobic" when the five-piece group are out and about and get swamped by fans while touring the globe.

"I'm quite claustrophobic and I don't like everyone crowding around and shouting the same questions," Niall revealed to We Love Pop magazine this week. "I get a little bit scared sometimes.

"It's all good as we've got a good security team," he explained.

The 'Little Things' singer also opened up about how the five boys get on  while out touring and promoting, and says they are more comfortable with each other now.

"We've got to the stage now where we know each other's boundaries," he added. "If there's an argument it's over what's on the radio, or, 'Turn up the window, it's freezing!"

Earlier this week Niall's bandmate Harry Styles was teased by his fellow One Direction stars during a show in Newcastle, when they made fun of his and Taylor Swift's relationship.

The Irish singer was recently linked to a relationship with aspiring model Zoe Whelan, but she has since denied the claims and deleted her Twitter account.

One Direction are out on their 'Take Me Home' world tour at present, while they have begun teasing their upcoming 3D concert movie over the past few weeks.
