One Direction star Niall Horan says he is "getting there" after having an operation on his knee, while talking to Capital live at the BRIT Awards 2014.

The 'Story Of My Life' five-piece, who are up for several awards at tonight's (19th February) event, also chatted about how excited they are to be back at the BRITS. 

"I had an operation on my knee about six weeks ago," Niall told Max on the red carpet. "I'm getting there.

"We're just really excited to be nominated at all and be in the categories. Hopefully we'll win, who knows?" Zayn Malik added, when asked about their expectations for the night.
