An insider reveals the 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars were shaken up and treated for minor injuries following crash in Birmingham.

One Direction's car accident in Birmingham on Wednesday night (4th January) was a "close call" according to a source close to the band.

The 'Gotta Be You' singer's were apparently "shaken up" by the indicent and also received treatment for whiplash.

The source told The Sun: "It was a close call. The lads and their two tour managers were pretty shaken up and were treated for varying degrees of whiplash. Yesterday they were seen by an osteopath who gave them the all-clear."

It is reported that the boys people carrier was hit by a car as they returned home after performing in Birmingham on their sold out 'Up All Night' tour.

"They came close to cancelling because of the crash but the boys didn't want to let down their avid fans," added the source.

"As soon as they got the all-clear they decided to go ahead with the gig. It's lucky dancing in their live shows is kept to a minimum so it did not put extra stress on their bodies."

Nial Horan took to his Twitter account yesterday to reassure the band's fans that the group were fine.

"Guys, thanks for all your messages,We were involved in a really minor accident. We are all absolutely fine!," he tweeted.

One Direction continue their 'Up All Night' tour with a performance in Nottingham tomorrow night.
