Nicole Scherzinger: "I'm Sad I Don't Have A Piece Of One Direction"

The X Factor judge says she was crucial in the formation of the 'Live While We're Young' group.

Nicole Scherzinger has admitted she is "sad" that she doesn't have a share of One Direction's earnings.

The X Factor judge was influential in the decision to make Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson a group when they auditioned separately for the talent show in 2010.

Nicole, who was a stand in on the series at the time, said she wanted credit for helping form the 'What Makes You Beautiful' group.

"Simon Cowell forgets that too, or he's trying to forget that. I think they said the footage of me suggesting it mysteriously disappeared!" she told the Daily Star.

"I just thought: 'Wow, these boys!' None of them were strong enough to make it through, but they'd make a killer group. All the girls are going to want to see these guys in a band together. And look at what they've done. I'm just really sad that I don't have a piece of it!"

One Direction were among the artists who performed at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball in London over the weekend.
