Nicole Scherzinger: 'I had reservations about US X Factor'
Nicole Scherzinger has admitted she was unsure about co-hosting the US version of The X Factor.
The singer, who is set to appear at Capital's Summertime Ball, said she was worried the role would conflict with her music career.
'I was really excited but I had my own reservations just because I came out with my album 'Killer Love' and my music is number one to me,' she told BBC Newsbeat.
'I just want to get it out there so I wanted to make sure it wouldn't get in the way of promoting the music.'
The singer, who is due to present the show later this year with former T4 TV presenter Steve Jones, has said despite her hectic schedule, she can't wait to take up the role.
'To be able to play the role of artist/ambassador on X Factor and reach people in that way and connect with people in that way, I'm very blessed right now.'
Nicole is due to share the stage with Jennifer Lopez, Jessie J, The Wanted and JLS at Capital's Summertime Ball on June 12.
