Macklemore Talks "Surreal" Experience At MTV Movie Awards 2013 After Performance - Video

Macklemore says attending the MTV Movie Awards 2013 over the weekend was a "surreal" experience but says it was a great moment for him and producing partner Ryan Lewis.

The US rapper has achieved huge success over the past several months with their single 'Thrift Shop', and made his Movie Awards debut to perform new song 'Can't Hold US' at the star-studded awards ceremony.

"No lifetime achievement award? It wasn't my year," Macklemore joked to MTV News this week, after attending the awards shows. "But for the first time on a red carpet tonight and performing here, it was very surreal, man.

"I'm extremely grateful," he continued, referring to the duo's huge success over the past year. "It was a lot of fun. You know, it's one of those moments."

The MTV Movie Awards 2013 also saw a performance from Selena Gomez while The Avengers was the big award winner of the night.
