Lorde Covers Tears For Fears Hit For Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack - Audio

The 'Royals' star has released a snippet of her new cover version ahead of the soundtrack's release.

Lorde has recorded a cover of the Tears For Fears hit 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' as part of the soundtrack for the new Hunger Games film.

The 'Royals' singer treated fans to a 90 second snippet of her new song earlier today (13th November), which features on the track listing for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.

Lorde joins the likes of Ellie Goulding, Christina Aguilera and Coldplay on the soundtrack of the new sci-fi epic, which reunites cast members Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson on screen for their second outing as Katniss and Peeta.

New Zealand singer Lorde has also been praised for her cover by a one of the song's originators, Curt Smith from Tears For Fears. 

"I think it's absolutely amazing," he told MTV after hearing the cover version. "But then, I love her. I think she's brilliant."

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out on 21st November and the soundtrack drops on 19th November.
