Little Mix's Perrie Edwards "Loved" Zayn Malik's Olympics Closing Ceremony Performance

The 'Wings' singer says she enjoyed watching the band as they sang 'What Makes You Beautiful' at London 2012 event.

Little Mix's Perrie Edward has said she was "proud" watching her boyfriend Zayn Malik and the rest of One Direction perform at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony.

The group were one of a host of big names involved in the celebrations and delighted fans at the Olympic Stadium with their performance of 'What Makes You Beautiful'.

Speaking about One Direction's appearance at the closing ceremony on Daybreak, Perrie said: "I think it was amazing – the boys did so well. I think everyone was amazing.
 
"I was just sitting in the audience thinking I'm so proud to be British and just be there – the ceremony was incredible."

Zayn surprised fans by debuting a new hair cut at the closing ceremony, which features a blonde streak in his famous quiff.

One Direction's performance was one of a number during a jam-packed celebration of the last 50 years of British music, which organisers dubbed the ultimate "after party" to the Olympics.

The Spice Girls, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah were among the artists involved in the event.

Meanwhile, Little Mix's debut single 'Wings' is due to be released later this month, while One Direction are currently putting the finishing touches to their second album.
