Lawson are a band consisting of (L-R) Joel Peat (Lead guitar), Andy Brown (Lead singer), Adam Pitts (Drummer) and Ryan Fletcher (Bass). Their first single was called 'When She Was Mine', released in May 2012. Picture: Danny North
Lawson first formed via Myspace when Andy and Adam came up with the idea of starting a band. Joel and Ryan were recruited seperately and after meeting up in person and rehearsing a few times the band as we know it was formed.
Lawson's band name originates from the name of Dr David Lawson (pictured), the surgeon who saved lead singer Andy's life when he successfully removed a brain tumour when the singer was 19. The band paid tribute to Dr Lawson by getting him up on stage at the Liverpool leg of their 'Everywhere We Go' tour in 2013. Picture: Twitter
Andy Brown (Born May 8th, 1987) is the oldest member of Lawson at 25 years (pictured). Ryan Fletcher (January 9th, 1990) and Joel Peat (June 27th, 1990) are both 23 years old and Adam Pitts (December 24th 1990) is 22 years old.
The band are from all over the UK - Joel's from Mansfield, Andy's from Liverpool, Adam's from Brighton and Ryan's from Chesterfield.
Lawson's dedicated fan group call themselves 'Geese'. This was a term the boys used on Twitter which the fans decided to adopt it for themselves. Picture: Lawson
Lawson gigged up and down the country starting out in small venues and pubs. They managed to secure a spot supporting The Wanted on their tour, whilst still unsigned, but eventually signed a record deal with Polydor Records in September 2011.
Andy Brown from Lawson used to date Mollie King from The Saturdays and their tracks 'When She Was Mine' and 'Standing In The Dark' were written by Andy about the 'Gentleman' star.
