The 'Edge Of Glory' star admits she used to sing the star's version of 'The Star Spangled Banner' everyday after school.
Lady Gaga has confessed that she believes Whitney Houston is the "greatest artist of all time".
The 'Bad Romance' star opened up on the tragic death of the 'I Will Always Love You' singer during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on the TV star's new show Next Chapter.
Speaking from her parents' home in New York she admitted: "My greatest influence in this house for ten years was Whitney.
"I used to stand at the top of that staircase and sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' every single day after school. I would play it over and over. I thanked her at the Grammys because she for me is the greatest of all time."
The singer gave a public shout out to the late singer when she accepted her Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2011 event saying she imagined the star to be singing her smash hit 'Born This Way' when she wrote it.
Meanwhile, the singer also admitted she spent two weeks dressed as a man as she attempted to gain a better understanding of the opposite sex and her past relationships.
