The 'Marry The Night' singer says retro is the way forward for affordable gifts this festive season.

Lady Gaga has told her fans to "go to vintage shops" if they are struggling to come up with good present ideas for friends and family.

The 'Born This Way' star, who is often spotted rocking retro looks, said vintage shops were great destinations for fans who have not got much money to spend on presents.

She wrote on Twitter: "I'm telling you, if your in a christmas pinch go to vintage shops, most have archive jewelry from the fifties + affordable! great presents!"

The singer also admitted that she likes to use coupons so she can always try and get the best deal on presents.

She said: "Why do people look at me like I'm crazy when i use coupons at grocery or try bargaining at retail, IM FROM NEW YORK WHERE IS THE SALE RACK."
