The 'Since U Been Gone' singer has performed a live cover in tribute to the late soul singer.

Kelly Clarkson has paid tribute to Etta James in the wake of the late soul singer's death on Friday (20th January).

The 'Mr Know It All' performed Etta's song 'I'd Rather Go Blind' during her concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Saturday (21st January).

Kelly told the crowd she had decided to sing her favourite Etta James track as a special tribute to the influential singer.

"This isn't 'At Last' because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favourite," Kelly told the audience in attendance.

Etta James passed away on Friday at the age of 73 following complications from leukaemia.

Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are among a large number of stars who have all posted tributes to the late singer on Twitter.
