The 'Part Of Me' singer admits there's "good" and "bad" parts including her troubles over the past year.
Katy Perry has revealed details on the music video for her new single 'Wide Awake' stating it will showcase her "journey".
The 'I Kissed A Girl' star spoke to MTV ahead of the promo's premiere on 19th June to state that there are a variety of different elements of her musical and personal life.
"I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze," she admitted. "There's good parts; there's bad parts. Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome.
The singer recently unveiled a teaser to the clip which sees a girl reading a book with chapters containing her tracks from 'Teenage Dream'.
"I think what probably kept me going is just the purity of my belief in music," she explained about her struggles in the past year.

The star performed the track and some of her biggest hits during her performance at the Summertime Ball 2012 and is currently preparing to release her first ever 3D movie entitled Katy perry: Part Of Me.
The film hits cinemas at the beginning of next month, and the star recently surprised fans at a special screening in London by performing and watching the movie with the fans in attendance.
