The 'Wide Awake' singer sits down with Capital to speak about her brand new big screen spectacular.

Katy Perry's debut movie 'Part Of Me' 3D hit cinema screens this week and Capital grabbed some time with the American star to talk about the film.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer had been up bright and early and was wearing a cream dress complete with cherry and a feathery skirt as she explained how busy her promotional campaign has been so far.

"I love the fact that I'm running around the world in one week," she confessed.

The 'Firework' star's new movie features the ups and downs of her past year, including the final shows of her 'California Dreams' world tour and the much publicised split from comedian Russell Brand.

Some scenes feature a very emotional Katy looking "exhausted' and she felt it necessary to include those as she doesn't want to be apart of "fake Hollywood".

She also added that people shouldn't be afraid to let their own emotions get the better of them during the film because "real men cry".

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer discussed one of the hardest moments in the movie where she almost cancelled a show in Sao Paolo.

"I had to basically throw myself on stage and separate my personal life from my professional because I didn't want to make it the audience's problem," she confessed.

During her promotion of the film, Katy has been heading to premieres around the world with her 91-year-old grandmother from Las Vegas.

"She does not acknowledge any of my success," Katy explained as she declared her grandmother wouldn't be able to make the trip to the UK.

Fans and celebrities from around the world have been messaging the American star on her Twitter account including the likes of One Direction.

Katy said there are two people she would love to see head down and grab a seat in the cinema – Rihanna and Prince Harry.

"I'd love her to see it, she's kind of busy too," Katy said of her good friend and 'We Found Love' singer before calling the royal a "hot ginger".

Another piece of big news from the world of music this week has been the announcement that '21' singer Adele is pregnant with her first child and Katy confessed how excited she was for the British singer.

She also revealed an incident backstage at an early London show where the 'Rolling In The Deep' singer stole a burrito from her.

"She was really nice in my movie saying nice things about me – I've always loved her," she admitted.

Katy has confessed that once she finishes her tour of the film she will be heading into hiding to escape the media spotlight and will also be looking to start work on her new studio album.

"I would love to just let it be the black box of who I am," she revealed.
