The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer has broken her silence to thank her fans for their support.
Katy Perry has spoken out for the first time since news broke of her divorce to her husband Russell Brand almost two weeks ago.
The 'One That Got Away' star took to her Twitter account late last night (7th January) to confess how overwhelmed she has been by the show of support she has received from her fans.
"I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again," she tweeted.
Shortly after, she posted another message to make reference to recent media reports concerning the reasons for the break-up to the comedian.
"Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family," she wrote.
The tweets follow recent reports that her parents have been discussing the star's divorce during church services - calling the separation a "gift from god".
Katy is also reportedly due to make her first public appearance since the split at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles on the 11th January.
