Katy Perry "Devastated" After Death Of Former Boyfriend And OC Star Johnny Lewis

The 28 year-old actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles following an altercation with his landlady.

Katy Perry has reportedly been left "devastated" following the news of the death of her former boyfriend Johnny Lewis.

The 'Part Of Me' singer dated the actor in 2005 and 2006, eventually splitting to concentrate on her career.

Us magazine reports that the singer had attempted to help the actor in the early days of their relationship as she knew he was in "trouble" back then.

"She had to separate from him to get ahead and focus on her career," a source revealed to the publication. "He was in trouble then and she couldn't help him. A lot of her songs were partially inspired by him. I know 'The One That Got Away' and 'Circle the Drain' are partly about him, as well as Travis [Travie McCoy].

The insider continued: "But she was young and it was a time in her life she cherishes."

28 year-old Johnny was found dead on the driveway of his home in Los Angeles after a reported altercation with his 81 year-old landlady.

He was famous for appearing in US TV show The OC as well as Sons Of Anarchy.

"They had good times. It's really sad," the source added. "She could never help him and couldn't [let herself] go in that direction."

Meanwhile, Katy has been in Tokyo recently promoting her 3D concert film Part Of Me and performed in Singapore last weekend for an event at the Formula One Grand Prix.
