Watch as the hottest couple in music mock host Kevin Hart's attempts to join their inner circle.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian appear in the new teaser promo for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) alongside host Kevin Hart.

The skit, which you can watch below, sees Kevin try to become a member of real life couple Kim and Kanye's clique.

Relaxing on a bed in their gym clothes, Kanye and Kim look stunned as Kevin recommends potential nicknames for the trio, many of which are inappropriate.

The VMAs are set to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 6th September.

The nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) were announced last month, with Rihanna and Drake leading this year's nominees with five each.

Katy Perry, one of the big winners at last year's ceremony, has four nominations, while Beyonce, Coldplay and Watch The Throne – aka Kanye West and Jay-Z – all have three nods.

Rihanna's nominations include Video of the Year for 'We Found Love' and 'Take Care', her collaboration with Drake.

The coveted category also sees nominations for 'Wide Awake' by Katy Perry, Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' and 'Bad Girls' by M.I.A.
