The 'Believe' singer says it would have been unhealthy to hide the nature of their relationship from the press.
Justin Bieber has spoken out about his relationship with actress and singer Selena Gomez and says it wouldn't have been fair for them to continue hiding their relationship.
The 18 year-old pop singer and 19 year-old Disney star Selena began opening dating in early 2011 after a long period of speculation about their relationship, and the 'Never Say Never' singer says it would have been "unhealthy" to hide from the press.
"There's no way to hide the relationship completely because then it would be unfair to us," Justin told Complex magazine in his cover shoot interview.
"It's like, 'You take this car and I'll take this car, and then we'll meet up at this spot. Then, you go in this door, I'll go in this door. We'll end up crossing ways. You get back in this car. We'll cross over, do a James Bond. You go through the kitchen. I'll go through the back area. Then we'll meet in the dressing room and see each other."
He explained: "At that point, it's not even a relationship. You're just hiding from everyone. That's unfair and unhealthy, man."
The 'Mistletoe' singer starred in a boxing themed photo shoot for the publication, which saw him bloodied and bruised as part of the spread.
Justin Bieber unveiled the full lyrics for his upcoming single 'Boyfriend' earlier today (21st March), which is due to be officially unveiled on 26th March.
