Justin Bieber has called for "meaningful legislation" after a paparazzo was killed photographing his car.
The 29-year-old was hit by a vehicle while taking pictures of the 'Boyfriend' star's white Ferrari in Los Angeles.
In a statement released to CNN, Justin expressed his condolences to the photographer's family and said the time had come for laws to be introduced to prevent such a tragic accident from happening again in the future
"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim," Justin said.
"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."
Justin has had a notoriously fractious relationship with the paparazzi and has previously called for them to be more closely governed.
An LAPD investigation has begun into the photographer's death.
