Jay-Z's Grammy hat-trick

For the second year running Jay-Z has won three Grammys, taking his total to 13.

Jay-Z success this year was due in no small part to Alicia Keys and her husband Swiss Beatz.

Jay Z's collaboration with Alicia Keys on Empire State of Mind won them Best Rap/Sung collaboration and Best Rap Song. In both categories they beat Rihanna and Eminem with 'Love the Way You Lie' and B.o.B and Bruno Mars, 'Nothin on You'.

Then with some help from Swiss Beatz (Mr Alicia Keys) Jay-Z scooped Best Rap Performance by a Duo or a Group for "On to the Next One".

Last year Jay Z also won three awards, Best Rap Solo Performance, ("D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)");  Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, ("Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye West) and Best Rap Song, ("Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye West).

It takes his career total to 13.
