Florence & The Machine Named Best Solo Artist At NME Awards 2012

The 'Shake It Out' singer also won Best Single at the event in central London this week.

Florence and the Machine was the big winner at the NME Awards last night (29th February) where she walked away with two gongs.

The 'No Light, No Light' singer-songwriter picked up Best Solo Artist over acts including Adele and Laura Marling, as well as Best Song for her single 'Shake It Out'.

Florence walked the red carpet in a black and white suit covered in a floral pattern, before changing into a long black gown for a performance of 'Shake It Out' at the ceremony.

The 'You Got The Love' singer also performed at the BRIT Awards 2012 last month where she sang 'No Light, No Light'. 

Florence and the Machine are due to kick off their UK tour this month before heading stateside to launch a US tour on 15th April.
