The 'Stay Awake' rapper says people will be surprised to be learn that he loves boy bands like The Wanted.
Example claims he has nothing against the pop industry and is actually a big fan of chart regulars like Lady Gaga, JLS and The Wanted.
The 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' rapper downplayed rumours he has a vendetta against a pop following his Twitter spats with Alexandra Burke and Rochelle Wiseman in June.
"I was just being honest," he told the Daily Star. "Now people think if it's a pop star I automatically hate them.
"But I study pop, it's my job. I love Gaga, JLS and loads of pop music."
The Fulham born artist also admitted he has developed a soft spot for boy band The Wanted.
"They are good guys," he explained. "I've written them a ballad. It's fun, quite romantic.
Example will embark on his first UK arena tour in April 2012 and was recently confirmed as a support act for next year's Snowbombing Festival in Austria.
'Midnight Run' will be released as the third single from 'Playing in the Shadows' on 4th December.
