The 'Lego House' star says he is looking forward to bringing his music to a whole new audience.

Ed Sheeran says Taylor Swift has "opened up a lot of doors" for him through their friendship, recent collaboration and the news that he will support the US star on her 'Red' tour across North America in 2013.

The 'Small Bump' star will join Taylor across a large number of her 58 announced tour dates starting in March 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska, and admits it is a "massive opportunity" to bring his music to America.

"This is actually my biggest outing to date," Ed revealed to MTV News this week, fresh from the announcement. "I've never gone on tour for six months without a break.

"I've never really touched multiple arenas so that's going to be a bit mind-blowing," the UK singer explained, before saying he has no intention of trying to overshadow country star Taylor's set. "It's Taylor's show and I'm meant to open up and get them warmed up."

"I think Taylor's just opening up a lot of doors and it's up to me to make sure that I get through to them," Ed continued. "It's a massive opportunity for me and I want to make sure to grab it with both hands.

The 'Lego House' star went on to say that he was looking forward to bringing his music to a completely new audience over in America, after his meteoric rise to success in the UK over the past twelve months.

"It will be exciting to be back in a situation where I'm playing in front of people who are complete strangers and I have to win them over," he added.
