The 'Lego House' star admits he never thought he would be competing with the 'Rolling In The Deep' singer in his first year.
Ed Sheeran has admitted he was "surprised" to have received four nominations at the BRIT Awards 2012 but believes Adele will scoop the prize in the Best Album category.
The 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' star is the artist with the most nods following a ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London last night (12th January) and Capital FM's Rich Clarke spoke to the singer after the news broke to ask him how he was feeling.
He confessed: "It's – surprising I would say is the word. You just don't expect to be in categories with people like Adele and Coldplay on your first year. To have the album nomination was the one that surprised me. I won't win it because Adele will win it."
Ed has received nominations for Best Album, Best Male, Best Breakthrough and Best Song for 'The A Team'.
The singer took to his Twitter account later that night to thanks all his fans for their support during his first year.
"I'm a bit blown away, thank you for all your support!! : ) waaaaah!," he tweeted.
