The Coldplay frontman admits he is a big fan of the "madness" that follows the 'Marry The Night' singer.
Chris Martin has revealed that he thinks Lady Gaga is a better song writer than himself.
The 'Paradise' singer believes that her unique fashion sense and the "madness" surrounding the star is admirable because underneath she is a very talented and strong song writer.
Speaking to XFM before Coldplay's performance on last night's (11th December) X Factor final, Chris said: "I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses."
The Coldplay frontman met the 'Born This Way' star last month at a gig in Manchester and was full of praise for the singer.
"She's very sweet. I think what undercuts it all, though, is that she's talented and she writes everything," he revealed.
Coldplay performed forthcoming single 'Charlie Brown' and recent Big Top 40 number one 'Paradise' on the reality show last night, which saw girl group Little Mix crowned the winners of the series.
Meanwhile, Coldplay are rumoured to be dueting with Rihanna at next year's Brit Awards ceremony.
Speaking of a possible duet, Chris added: "I'd like to but she's got her choice of everybody, so it depends on where we come on her list."
