The 'Paradise' band will reportedly kick off tomorrow's event at London's O2 Arena.
Coldplay are set to open the BRIT Awards 2012 according to host James Corden.
The 'Charlie Brown' band are apparently planning a spectacular opening number complete with an expensive pyrotechnic display.
James said: "The show is going to be incredible. Coldplay are opening, which will be huge. They have spent a fortune on pyrotechnics to make it something really special."
The British band are also up for British Album Of The Year with 'Mylo Xyloto' as well as British Group on the night and front man Chris Martin is also rumoured to be joining Noel Gallagher on stage at the event.
Meanwhile, Coldplay recently teamed up with Rihanna at the 54th Grammy Awards earlier this month for a rendition of their collaborative song 'Princess Of China'.
The BRIT Awards 2012 begin tomorrow night (21st February) from London's O2 Arena.
