The 'Call My Name' singer could be set to make a dramatic U-turn and rejoin the judging panel of the reality show.
Cheryl Cole has long been linked with a return to The X Factor and could be set to make her way across the pond to rejoin the panel of the US version of the show, it is claimed.
The '3 Words' star is apparently back chatting with show boss Simon Cowell – who is extremely keen to have her back on board.
"Simon would love to have Cheryl back," a source told the Daily Mirror. "They're chatting more and more at the moment and he's hopeful she might be up for coming back."
Sarah Harding recently confirmed that the singer was plotting a move to Los Angeles – despite her recent return to the UK.
"She's still spending a lot of time in the States and wants to move out there so it'd looking more likely to be on the cards," added the insider.
Cheryl has previously stated that she would never go back and spoke openly about her axe from the show during her autobiography last year.
The Girls Aloud singer did appear on last year's UK version however, when she helped Gary Barlow select the contestants for his team.
Meanwhile, the Geordie star has also confessed last month that she has no immediate plans to head into the studio to work on new music following the split of Girls Aloud.
