The Girls Aloud star has clarified recent rumours she was set to return to the panel in 2013.

Cheryl Cole has officially denied she will be back on The X Factor UK in 2013 after widespread rumours linking the 'Call My Name' star to a return next year.

The 'Under The Sun' singer spoke out for the first time this week since rumours claimed The X Factor UK boss was keen to convince Cheryl to make a return, and said she "definitely" has no plans to return to the show's panel.

"It's a definite 'no'," Cheryl told Graham Norton during filming for his chat show this week alongside her Girls Aloud bandmates.

The '3 Words' singer was speaking fresh from performing both solo and with the rest of Girls Aloud at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball this past weekend, and also revealed none of her four bandmates have read her recently published autobiography Cheryl: My Story.

"Not one of them has read it, they don't need to as they were there!" Cheryl revealed. "People think there was a three year break but we still socialised on a weekly basis.

"It's not like we didn't see each other for three years."

It had been rumoured last month that Simon was keen to replace current panelist Tulisa Contostavlos with Cheryl to join Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow on the show's 2013 panel.

Girls Aloud's appearance on The Graham Norton Show airs tonight (14th December) on BBC One.
