The 'Under The Sun' singer says she likes to be around people who "feel like family".
Cheryl Cole has opened up about her romance with dancer Tre Holloway and says the two share an "intense" relationship.
The 'Call My Name' singer went public with her new romance earlier this year, speaking about their relationship in her reality TV documentary in November, and has now explained why the backing dancer means so much to her.
"I am experiencing a really intense situation," Cheryl revealed to The Sun this week. "I look for someone with a personality, charm and connection.
"I love having people around who feel like family," the pop star explained. "You are experiencing a really intense relationship.
"There's an intensity, there's a trust, there's a love - a genuine love," Cheryl revealed, while talking about Tre's dancing ability. "He is very experienced in what he is doing, he is a ridiculously talented character.
The two returned to London this week after a brief stay in Los Angeles, and Cheryl has resumed promotional duties for her recently published autobiography Chery: My Story.
Earlier this week it was reported that The X Factor USA judge Simon Cowell has told Cheryl to name her price for making a return to the UK version of the show in 2013.

Cheryl Cole is set to perform both nights of the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball 2012 this month when she performs solo on the Saturday (8th December) before joining her bandmates as Girls Aloud on the Sunday (9th December).
