The 'Parachute' star's family member went up in front of the judges during this week's auditions in Newcastle.
Cheryl Cole's niece Melissa Armstrong auditioned for The X Factor this week, it has been reported.
The hopeful was unable to audition for the music reality series when the 'Call My Name' star was still a judge on the show and gave a rendition of her Aunt's hit 'Promise This' when she stood up in front of Nicole Scherzinger, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh in Newcastle.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Pussycat Dolls star was impressed with the vocals of Cheryl's brother's step-daughter and wanted to put her through to the next round.
"I could see you doing country music or in a girl band," she admitted.
Louis was apparently all for giving the singer another chance, however, Tulisa and Gary were not as keen and neglected to put her through.

Cheryl has yet to return to the Simon Cowell series in any form since she controversially departed the series in the US last year.
The Girls Aloud star was recently linked to a position on American Idol after rumours circulated that Jennifer Lopez would not be returning to the show next series.
Meanwhile, Cheryl made a surpise appearance at Capital FM's Summertime Ball 2012 this month and her new album 'A Million Lights' is out now.
