The 'Forget You' singer insists he meant no harm after he altered the words on a New Year's Eve broadcast.
Cee Lo Green has insisted he never meant to disrespect John Lennon after altering the lyrics to his classic hit 'Imagine' during a live New Year's Eve performance.
The 'Anyway' singer was taking part in NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly show in Times Square New York when he changed the words to the song.
The star faced a barrage of criticism on social networking site Twitter because instead of singing the original line "And no religion too", the star sang "And all religion's true".
The Daily Mail reports that the 'It's OK' artist responded to the negative comments via a post on his Twitter account, which has since been removed.
"Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that's all," he apparently tweeted.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga was also performing in Times Square, playing a medley of her biggest hits before pushing the button which dropped the ball into the crowd to signal the countdown to 2012.
