Carly Rae Jepsen And Justin Bieber Dominate Vodafone Big Top 40

The 26-year-old prevents fellow Canadian from securing top spot with 'Boyfriend'.

Carly Rae Jepsen has scored her first ever number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 with 'Call Me Maybe'.

The singer held off a challenge from Justin Bieber, whose new single 'Boyfriend' went straight into number two despite only being released today (8th April).

Carly and Justin both share the same manager, Scooter Braun, and Carly recently revealed that she had recorded a single with the 'Baby' star.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' is at number three, while the top five is completed by Sean Paul's 'She Doesn't Mind' and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' by Gotye feat. Kimbra.

Azealia Banks was the highest climber on this week's chart, going from number 18 to number eight.
