The singer-songwriter says everything is different following the chart success of her brand new single.
Carly Rae Jepsen has described her meteoric rise to fame in the UK as a "whirlwind" and admits her whole life has changed following the success of her new single.
The Canadian singer-songwriter launched her new track 'Call Me Maybe' in the UK last week, which went straight in at number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 on Sunday (8th April).
Former Canadian Idol star Carly credits being signed to Justin Bieber's US label Schoolboy Records as a big factor in her newfound success, and says the single's success has been the "greatest surprise".
"It truly has been a whirlwind, but it's been a lot of fun," Carly told MTV News this week. "It's just like my entire life has changed, and it's exciting.
"If you met me before this experience, I would have said my favourite thing about life is when it surprises you," she explained. "This has been the greatest surprise so far."
26 year-old Carly also spoke about keeping mentor Justin Bieber's new single 'Boyfriend' off the top spot in the UK over the weekend, and said the two are enjoying their friendly competition with each other.
Carly Rae Jepsen confirmed last week that she and 'Never Say Never' singer Justin Bieber have recently recorded a duet together which fans will be able to hear sometime in the near future.
