The 'Call Me Maybe' star's breakthrough smash will feature on the first episode of season four.
Carly Rae Jepsen's signature song 'Call Me Maybe' is set to be featured in the first episode of Glee's new season, while Adele's first ever single is also believed be used on the show.
The 'Good Time' singer's breakthrough hit has been storming the charts for the past several months, and will be covered on the popular FOX musical series by glee club New Directions in the fourth season premiere 'The New Rachel'.
The new season of Glee is set three months after the end of the previous season, and picks up on what happened after several key characters graduated high school and moved on with their lives.
According to The Hollywood Reporter. Adele's 'Chasing Pavements' will also be featured in the episode, and series star Darren Criss says Carly Rae Jepsen's hit featuring in the season premiere is not that surprising.
"There will be some song that feel like this is not a surprise at all," star Darren told the publication. "Just do the math, popular summer songs, and then you hear them and you're like, 'Oh yeah. This really isn't shocking".
26 year-old Carly's worldwide hit is currently enjoying its ninth consecutive week at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming the longest running number one of the year so far, and has featuring in a number of popular cover and parody videos online from the likes of the Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.
Carly Rae Jepsen is set to release her brand new album 'Kiss' on 18th September.
