Britney Spears has reportedly started working on music for her eighth studio album and is expected to "surprise" her fans with a new sound when the record gets unveiled.
The 'I Wanna Go' singer is currently preoccupied with her role judging on The X Factor USA but has allegedly found time to begin working on new material with US songwriter Elijah Blake.
"I think her fans will be surprised by it," Elijah revealed to ThatGrapeJuice this week, about his work with the 'Criminal' singer. "I would say it's definitely the 'unexpected' Britney in so many ways.
"In that she's playing with new textures and stomping on new grounds and genres."
The writer and singer further confirmed his involvement with Britney's new record after being quizzed by a fan on Twitter about the project.
"I've definitely had the pleasure of starting on something I think is going to be big with her," Elijah tweeted in response to a fan question.
