The X Factor UK judge confirmed the 'Femme Fatale' star is in line for the American show's judging panel this year.
Britney Spears has reportedly entered into talks to serve as a judge on the second season of The X Factor USA.
The X Factor judge Louis Walsh confirmed on Craig Doyle's The Social that Simon Cowell is indeed talking with the 'Criminal' singer about a role on the show's new season.
"I know he is talking to Britney," Louis told host Craig Doyle this week. "I know he's definitely talking to Britney, for his American show. Absolutely true.
He added: "And maybe Janet Jackson."
Louis also commented on speculation about the future of the UK show's judging panel, amid reports that Kelly Rowland has decided not to return for a second outing.
"There's no one contract yet, but I think I'll be back. I think Gary will be back. I think Tulisa will be back, that's three," he teased. "Dermot's definitely back. I’m not sure about Kelly, I really am not sure, and no one's contracted."
The like of Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and Madonna have all been rumoured as potential replacements for former The X Factor USA judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
